Isolation and stress. Life in new conditions

Our Center has organized a series of online seminars where mental health professionals from the 半糖直播appAdvisory Service discussed the effects of COVID-19 pandemic to people's psychological state, talked about ways to cope with frightening emotions, disproportionate fear, and suggested effective methods of help that contribute to increasing adaptation to new difficult conditions.

In the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, we receive daily reports from the global 鈥渇ront鈥: the number of infected people is growing exponentially, frightening mortality rates, conflicting forecasts, the failure of the health systems of different countries, disproportionate actions of governments that make hasty and rash decisions.

And how does this all affect us? When there is little certainty in what is happening, a blow is struck to our consciousness, giving rise to disproportionate fears, anxiety and, as a result, destructive behavior. In fact, society receives a 鈥渂onus" in the form of a highly contagious virus of fear and panic, which affects people at a faster rate than the ill-fated microbe itself.

A total of 4 webinars during the week of April 17 to 24, 2020 were streamed online nationwide via 鈥淜aktus media鈥, leading news agency, and received thousands of views, questions and comments from users. Each webinar had its theme lead by different psychologists in an interactive mode with viewers asking questions and providing feedback online.听
