In 2023, the Department of International and Comparative Politics (ICP) signed the exchange agreement with the Political Science Department of the Universite Catholique de l鈥橭uest (Catholic University of West 鈥� UCO) in France.听
On April 8-12, 2024, Dr. Bu臒ra G眉ng枚r, Assistant Professor of International and Comparative Politics, and Dr. G枚rkem Atsungur, Associate Professor of International and Comparative Politics, Chair of the ICP Department, and Head of the Social Sciences Division, visited UCO鈥檚 campuses in Angers and Nantes in France and conducted public lectures.听
On April 11, 2024, Dr.听Bu臒ra听G眉ng枚r delivered a public lecture titled "The Motives of Emerging Donors: Examples from Turkey and Qatar". Dr. G眉ng枚r's presentation aimed to demonstrate why rising donors give aid and highlighted the differences and commonalities between the behaviors of emerging and traditional donors.
On 8, 9, and 11 April 2024, Dr. G枚rkem Atsungur met with first- and second-year students of UCO and conducted three lectures on 鈥楥entral Asian Politics鈥� and discussed the geopolitics of the region with a specific focus on the positions of Russia, China, and T眉rkiye in Central Asia. Furthermore, Dr. Atsungur introduced the 半糖直播appas an institution and the ICP program and encouraged UCO students for the exchange mobility at 半糖直播appin Bishkek.听
Dr. G眉ng枚r and Dr. Atsungur also met with the Director of International Development and Head of International Affairs and Partnerships in Angers, and two UCO students in Nantes who will be exchange students at 半糖直播appin Fall 2024 and discussed the course selection, student academic life at AUCA, and life in Bishkek.听
Both institutions decided to strengthen further partnerships and increase collaboration for the faculty and students鈥� mobility and exchange.听
